About.

My photo
Visual Journalism Student/ Photographer/Fashion Blogger. I love finding beauty where others don't, and I believe art can be found almost everywhere. Old and new, we can learn from all, and getting to a place where you can realize that is probably the most freeing a person can feel ever. But basically I love Fashion, and the designers are the artists with visions and their canvas' are us and the world, and I love helping spreading that message. "Ultimately isn't that fashion is about? We're all a bunch of big kids playing dress up." Feel free to e-mail me @ andrewwwhester@gmail.com to talk about anything!

It's...Kinda Funny.

-Teen Vogue
-September Issue
-2 words.
-TAYLOR MOMSEN.
-All that needs to be said. (theCUT)

A new Men's magazine I have found to be quite exciting is called "Fantastic Man". Gert Jonkers and Jop van Bennekom (pictured, below, center) are the creators of what Interview Magazine calls "one of the most remarkable magazines of this era." (Interview)

It currently only has 9 issues, but they have made a name for themselves with releasing 2 issues a year and having names like designer Tom Ford and author Bret Easton Ellis on the cover. It has become one of my new favorites.

& Here's a photo that's from one of their editorials titled "Chanel for Men". I love it because it gives me a feeling of hope for high fashion and it sustaining it's life in this struggle of the current economy. :-)

& photos from the GG Set while shooting Season 3 are being leaked. Here's Blake chilling out during a break. I think the chair, (and the fact that she's on the phone) just makes the picture perfect!
(in that case, -XOXO, A.)

Don't Stop Til You Get Enough

Spotted.

Rihanna in Balmain...AGAIN!!! :-)(Story from Style.com/stylefile)

& New Shirts from Marc by Marc demanding equal rights for all. (Below, first picture)
I don't necessarily like these two he has now.
I did however like the "Marc Jacobs Loves Everyone", but apparently they were only sold at his Paris Marc by Marc store opening...So guess I'll have to get to searching for that one! (below, second picture) (THECUT)

& I'm surprised there isn't a bottle of Grey Goose falling out of one of these Chanel bags in these pictures. Pathetic. Lily Allen...I guess we'll she how this goes over.
Shot by KLag himself...Congrats? (theCUT)

Something Like a Phenomena.

NEWS, NEWS, NEWS!!!

Conde' Nast soon plans to shut down Men.Style.com and give GQ and Details their own websites. My only 2 questions are --- "Where will the coverage/photos and videos of shows go?" & "Will Men.style.com/blog still alive? -But, other than that, Good move on their part I guess. Maybe this means more jobs are opening up for fashion online journalists?! ...cough cough. :-) (NyMagBlog)

The CROCS company is heading down a landslide, and QUICK!...YES! (NyMagBlog)

The September Issue will be on DVD quickly after it's theatrical release?! Take it up with (Fashionista), cause I'm just reporting what they said. I'm hoping so!

But, in other Fashion DVD news, did anyone else know that the Anna Wintour 60 Minutes is on Amazon?! I about flipped out. I guess I'll just have to add it to my cart whenever the September Issue is also released. (Amazon) (September Issue site)

Oh Yeah, and Taylor Lautner has a new interview in the latest issue of (INTERVIEW)...need I say more?...I think not.

I Can Want to Want Right?!

3 Things I feel that I NEED at the moment...

The Alexander McQueen Hummingbird Mirror Shirt!
The Louis Vuitton Stephen Sprouse Graffiti tie!
& these Missoni vintage glasses. (which I'm pretty sure are Women's, BUT I don't care!)
Now to find the money to buy them all...I feel like I'm about to start selling my blood for Fashion. Totally worth it right?!

Bittersweet Symphony

So, this post is going to be completely FULL of random thoughts and random/interesting things I have encountered with in the past week...Here goes!

As I was driving home to Birmingham last Saturday afternoon, my car decided to get a little heated...and overheat completely leaving me and my friend Sarah stranded to wait for it to cool down. Since my car has had a mind of its own since I inherited it in 2003 it has been a pain in the ass. One problem after another, so my parents decided to finally send it in to the shop for one last FINAL CHECK-UP/FIX-UP. SO---without vehicle in Tuscaloosa, my Mother decided to let me drive her Volvo. What more do I say other than...I have fallen in love with it. :-) Hopefully my parents are out looking for a used one as I type!!!...I can only wish. Preferably this one, Thanks!

I saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at a matinee yesterday and I can't help but notice that Hermoine's (Emma Watson) love interest, Cormac McLaggen, played by Freddie Stroma, in the movie has a very "Sebastian Valmont"/Ryan Phillippe/Cruel Intentions look to him. What do you think? He was also previously an underwear model for Acne!! Check it out here!

(pictured right, Freddie Stroma, below, Sebastian Valmont, Ryan Phillippe)

The CFDA announced its new members and among them are the Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, and Alexander Wang! (story from NYLONBlogs)

& Lastly, but CERTAINLY not least, The Sartorialist book arrives August 12th. Pre-Order Me Please!!!

When in the Hills..., & who wears Short Shorts?!

POLO Ralph Lauren created a casual preppy version of the "Converse" looking All Stars. They also named it the Ralph Lauren Conrad shoe. ---but apparently, they did not intend for it to be named after Lauren Conrad herself. It's just a shoe, and just a shoe apparently, Sorry LC.

Stella McCartney has new ads featuring...Bambi. Can you say 'The Wonderful World of' Couture?

NEW STUDY : Are suits with shorts instead of full-length trousers acceptable for the workplace for Men? (article @ Financial Times)
Apparently...because they're all over the runway. But, they also have capes, vampire and joker makeup, and lion heads so maybe the Fashion world just might have to wait a little while before everyone accepts men in S&S. (Shorts & Suits)

Everyone Knows Everyone

I ♥ NY...Because Conde Nast is there, and that = GQ, and that = !!!
Confusing Yes, but this isn't...(just follow the pictures and you will soon find how amazing it is)
The August GQ looks amazing...
Chaning Tatum, Zooey Deschanel, and Hunter Parrish all pages away!!!
This could be one of my favorite issues of all time!
We will have to see...here are some pictures I saw updated this morning to my News Feed. (below) (Courtesy of GQ)

The "EPIC" HollisterCo. opened in NYC yesterday and quoting theCUT, they said it could be called "Epically Awkward". With guys and girls walking around 75% naked and greeting people who walk in the store, or should I say "pier"(?), it should be exciting to see how the business goes because I don't think NY is really up for the "Hey What's Up?!" yet.

ALSO! I used an application of Facebook recently showing me how creepily all of my friends and I are all connected/intertwined. Look at this!

OMG, ELECTRIC FEEL.

TOPMAN has "electric" colored suits, and a nice plum and navy for those who would like be traditional. Pshhh. But they will set you back half a grand so save up!!!
(Story from NYMag the CUT)

& Target Exec.'s are afraid of Anna Sui's NEW GossipGirl inspired line?! (OMFG?! WTF?!) Apparently it has to do with the message they represent...drinking, casual sex, and drugs...I mean, come on, that's the 2000 generation teenager already...Come on Target, Open up to the "OMG-Ness".
(Story from NYMag the CUT)

XOXO

'Satorialist' This!

Men.Style.com has a "Greatest Hits" Album of the men of Spring 2010 from theSartorialist. For those of you, who do not know above the Satorialist, it is a blog that spots amazing fashion in real-life and makes posts about it. Great Blog. If I did not live in Alabama, or if I had the confidence to dress as chic, I would dress like these guys.

Here are some of my favorites from their picks!

WHAT A SUIT!!! (above)

Cool and Casual with a fedora to top it off! (above)
Insane Jacket...I would throw it on in a heartbeat. (above)
This ENTIRE look is Great! Hat, Shirt, Jacket, Pants!!! (above)
Leather Jacket, Metallic Shoes...enough said! :-) (above)
(Me.)...Just kidding, but pretty much, just less "model chic". (above)
Ahhh...Balmain is back. (above) Ditto. "TEN HUT!" (above) I can't see the bottom of this picture, BUT I hope that he is wearing vintage brown loafers! (above)
