NICKI MINAJ covers V's January 2011 'Discovery Issue'
and her spread features pieces from the Spring 2011
Collections of Versace, Balmain, and Givenchy.
Being a HUGE BlackFace supporter myself, I could not help
but to post this. In FULL ON KABUKI make-up, she does her part to keep the artistic
black & white/Kabuki performer face alive. Thank You Nicki.
ROONEY MARA covers W's February 2011 'Movie Issue' where stars of 2010 such as Natalie Portman, James Franco (!!!), & Mila Kunis are also interviewed inside. Mara is transformed into her highly anticipated and 2011 American portrayal of 'THE GIRL WITH THE DRAGON TATTOO's', 'Lisbeth Salander'. Styled out in Spring 11 Burberry and SS11 Punk trend style & also with an incognito black bob, Mara is playing up the punk very well.
ALL HAIL STEFANO!
What does it mean to be a HUGE blackface supporter?
ReplyDeleteThe words blackface have had harsh and racially charged meanings since it was used in a negative way. This is what the majority of people still believe today, but I do not. I believe that using blackface or facepaint of any kind to bring an artistic message to an editorial can add a sense of culture back to the work of the vision of a photographer, designer, or artist involved. Blackface is a lost art that has a harsh history behind its' previous meanings, but look at some of Carine's editorials during her 10 year reign at French Vogue. Also, with exposed nipples or public nudity in an artistic form are perfectly fine to me, but to some it can be distasteful and crude. It's all a matter of taste. :) -Thanks, Andrew
