About.

My photo
Visual Journalism Student/ Photographer/Fashion Blogger. I love finding beauty where others don't, and I believe art can be found almost everywhere. Old and new, we can learn from all, and getting to a place where you can realize that is probably the most freeing a person can feel ever. But basically I love Fashion, and the designers are the artists with visions and their canvas' are us and the world, and I love helping spreading that message. "Ultimately isn't that fashion is about? We're all a bunch of big kids playing dress up." Feel free to e-mail me @ andrewwwhester@gmail.com to talk about anything!

Crochets, Cut outs, Florals, & Modern Prints, Oh my... - Marni - Missoni - Versus - SPRING 2013

MARNI SPRING 2013

Marni was full of body conscious silhouettes, florals, peplums, deep V cut necklines, and a new approach to the little black dress. The modern like prints and pattens that seem to brought from the history books. The low drop from the waistline in the dresses is reminiscent to me of the designs in the 1920's and a simple art deco like feel.

MISSONI SPRING 2013

It seems that the Missoni girl has finally stepped into the modern fashion age while still staying Missoni. Classic crochets and light/warm ombre effects at the beginning of the collection. The thing about Missoni is that there could be not one look with a bit of color and it would still be a classic collection full of life...based solely on the technique and intricacy that comes along with the houses legacy. Yes, there were capris, and I'd rather not talk about them because I have never been a fan of a 3/4 length pant. In my opinion, those 3/4 lengths look better on arms. :)

VERSUS SPRING 2013

Pops of color everywhere. Mod floral prints with cut outs throughout the collection. The collection looks very sleek in texture and the SS13 crochet trend is present as well. Pop art color palette references with the 3D like overlay prints resembling the Wonderbread logo bringing all the primary colors into play. No surprise that the collection is full of color being a spring collection and also being designed by Christopher Kane and Donatella Versace, but everything about this collection is perfect from the silhouette to continuing SS13 trend of the mod like hem line.
