About.

My photo
Visual Journalism Student/ Photographer/Fashion Blogger. I love finding beauty where others don't, and I believe art can be found almost everywhere. Old and new, we can learn from all, and getting to a place where you can realize that is probably the most freeing a person can feel ever. But basically I love Fashion, and the designers are the artists with visions and their canvas' are us and the world, and I love helping spreading that message. "Ultimately isn't that fashion is about? We're all a bunch of big kids playing dress up." Feel free to e-mail me @ andrewwwhester@gmail.com to talk about anything!

Spotted : Trenches Around the World, XoXo.

Gossip Girl stylist Eric Daman (OMFG) is releasing a book on styling, with a foreword by Leighton Meester (!!!) The book is titled "You Know You Want It" and the release date is December 15, 2009. Just in time for Christmas!

Burberry released a new website ArtoftheTrench.com which is a collaboration with THE Sartorialist photographer, Scott Schuman, and it's pretty cool. It's a website full of photos where visitors can leave feedback on the photos of spotted trenches by commenting or "Liking" the photos. Here are some screenshots from the site!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun. (200th Post!)

UA GAMEDAY, HOMECOMING
TUSCALOOSA, AL

I was given the opportunity by myScoop.us to take photos of girls with Great Game-day Style on a University Holiday. I had a GREAT time doing it, and I felt like UA's own Sartorialist doing it. If this is what lies ahead in my career, I am completely be ecstatic. People in Fashion Journalism are completely different than those in the News Industry, and I LOVE IT.

Thanks again to my GREAT FRIEND, Grant for recommending me for the job, and to Marina Battles and Amy Bailey who trusted me to do a good job!!!

Here (below) are some of my favorite snaps from yesterday!

(I also ran into a Fellow UA Fashion Blogger, Elizabeth Hunt, who has impeccable style, (as you can tell from the photo), and here's her LINK! Check it out!)

Bittersweet Symphony

So, this post is going to be completely FULL of random thoughts and random/interesting things I have encountered with in the past week...Here goes!

As I was driving home to Birmingham last Saturday afternoon, my car decided to get a little heated...and overheat completely leaving me and my friend Sarah stranded to wait for it to cool down. Since my car has had a mind of its own since I inherited it in 2003 it has been a pain in the ass. One problem after another, so my parents decided to finally send it in to the shop for one last FINAL CHECK-UP/FIX-UP. SO---without vehicle in Tuscaloosa, my Mother decided to let me drive her Volvo. What more do I say other than...I have fallen in love with it. :-) Hopefully my parents are out looking for a used one as I type!!!...I can only wish. Preferably this one, Thanks!

I saw Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince at a matinee yesterday and I can't help but notice that Hermoine's (Emma Watson) love interest, Cormac McLaggen, played by Freddie Stroma, in the movie has a very "Sebastian Valmont"/Ryan Phillippe/Cruel Intentions look to him. What do you think? He was also previously an underwear model for Acne!! Check it out here!

The CFDA announced its new members and among them are the Mary-Kate Olsen, Ashley Olsen, and Alexander Wang! (story from NYLONBlogs)

& Lastly, but CERTAINLY not least, The Sartorialist book arrives August 12th. Pre-Order Me Please!!!

'Satorialist' This!

Men.Style.com has a "Greatest Hits" Album of the men of Spring 2010 from theSartorialist. For those of you, who do not know above the Satorialist, it is a blog that spots amazing fashion in real-life and makes posts about it. Great Blog. If I did not live in Alabama, or if I had the confidence to dress as chic, I would dress like these guys.

Here are some of my favorites from their picks!

WHAT A SUIT!!! (above)

Cool and Casual with a fedora to top it off! (above)
Insane Jacket...I would throw it on in a heartbeat. (above)
This ENTIRE look is Great! Hat, Shirt, Jacket, Pants!!! (above)
Leather Jacket, Metallic Shoes...enough said! :-) (above)
(Me.)...Just kidding, but pretty much, just less "model chic". (above)
Ahhh...Balmain is back. (above) Ditto. "TEN HUT!" (above) I can't see the bottom of this picture, BUT I hope that he is wearing vintage brown loafers! (above)
