About.

My photo
Visual Journalism Student/ Photographer/Fashion Blogger. I love finding beauty where others don't, and I believe art can be found almost everywhere. Old and new, we can learn from all, and getting to a place where you can realize that is probably the most freeing a person can feel ever. But basically I love Fashion, and the designers are the artists with visions and their canvas' are us and the world, and I love helping spreading that message. "Ultimately isn't that fashion is about? We're all a bunch of big kids playing dress up." Feel free to e-mail me @ andrewwwhester@gmail.com to talk about anything!

SPRING 2011 StopTalking Playlist

'In Love, Not Limbo' is a very feel good song, not that many lyrics, but a hypnotizing beat for relaxing. I came across it in September or October 2010, and it has stuck with me since.

Sleigh Bells is a band that seems to have huge potential. 'Infinity Guitars' was the first song I heard from the band around my 21st birthday LAST November, but it is so loud and obnoxious and I love how it makes me feel. The sound of an overloaded amp and an empowering female lead spitting words out like poetry makes me want to throw myself around while having the power to knock out predators as they come along.

Rihanna's 'Only Girl' is one of those songs that I don't think I could ever get tired of. It may seem stereotypical and cliche, but it is sort like a modern cross between Diana Ross' play with woman empowered lyrics and electro-hip-POP sound that makes it so good.
Plus, the video is sick.

Pretty Lights is an obsession that I have come across in the late Fall of 2010, but I am loving every bit of their cd. Based on beats and rhythms, "Glowing in the Darkest Night" flows from slow to fast 5 to 7 minutes tracks that sound like one ultra long mesmerizing mixtape that flows together.

Enough said.

I found this Mash-up of Moxie Black and Death Cab in 'Closer' on a mix-tape this past October, and it has stuck with me every since. The use of the slower beats that can trigger emotions and a more tough voice play are a different but definitely interesting mix that I can leave on in my car and get lost in.

CONTAGIOUS. Katy Perry's 'Teenage Dream' "We can dance, un-til we diiiie." Those words have made me completely fall in love with this song and forget how cheesy the song is. Not to mention the song is a full on anthem for "going all the way" and losing the V card.
P.S., just try watching the music video without your mouth being wide open because of all the hotness you experience.

The New Modern Trench Coat?

Is the "Marching/Military" jacket trend that has been sweeping the Fashion World by storm these past few Seasons going to become a Classic piece or is it already?

The concept of the jacket itself seems to have been around for a while, even when Michael Jackson was first blowing up into a Phenomenon, he was sporting the trend in the 1980's. He also kept the trend going up to his recent death by wearing the new modernized version that which most know about now from Balmain.

I honestly think that Balmain is the one to receive credit for modernizing the jacket into such an Iconic piece for the Millennium and Michael Jackson for bringing the trend to the spotlight over his time of reign as the King of Pop.

In Conclusion. I DO truly believe that this will be an Iconic piece for both Men and Women to go down in Fashion History along with the Burberry trench and Thigh-High Boot.

Plastic Jungle.

Garett Pugh. SPRING 2010.

& Rihanna was there, rumored to be on the lookout for a new outfit for her cover shoot for the her new album.
Even though I would like to see her in one of the above, I hope she chooses a Balmain jacket, no pants, and the new Balenciaga shoes!
(Balenciaga Coverage coming Next Blog!)

It's Balmain, Man.

BALMAIN. SPRING 2010.

SPOTTED> Rihanna, Front Row, Balmain-ed out in a jacket and MC Hammer pants.

The Looks I like. The Collection reminds me of Balmain line being imported to America was on a Cruise ship that crashed and sunk to the bottom of the ocean, and the clothing became covered in tarnish and moss, BUT in a good way.

& New Shirts from Marc by Marc demanding equal rights for all. (Below, first picture)
I don't necessarily like these two he has now.
I did however like the "Marc Jacobs Loves Everyone", but apparently they were only sold at his Paris Marc by Marc store opening...So guess I'll have to get to searching for that one! (below, second picture) (THECUT)

& I'm surprised there isn't a bottle of Grey Goose falling out of one of these Chanel bags in these pictures. Pathetic. Lily Allen...I guess we'll she how this goes over.
Shot by KLag himself...Congrats? (theCUT)

I Know You See Me Lookin' at You and You Already Know...

This Just In...

Rihanna wore "star pasteys" under her Blazer on the Fourth of July at a party... Festive or Trashy? I think after the year, she's had, she should have that Vogue cover by now...I mean, come on Anna!
From Rocking Balmain ALL YEAR, bringing denim cut offs back, and wearing the Dolce & Gabbana tux to the Gala, and now star pasteys...send her the memo to meet you on the 12th Floor!

(Story @ the Style.comBlog)

Cameron is on the cover of V and channelling her inner "Material Girl". Oh My.

(Story @ Fashionista)

Miley has made it to ELLE!!!
And with the Max Azria/ Wal-Mart line ahead of her, I have a new respect.

(Story from ELLE)

(&) LAST, but certainly NOT least, Ben Westwood, Vivienne's son, has decided to start a Menswear line to be presented at the next Fall Men's Fashion Week. Maybe I should start saving up now because from this early sketch of his trench, I am going to Obsessed, and this sounds like a piece to Collect. Like Mother, like Son I guess... (story @ Men.Style)

& Oh Yeah!!! Rupert Grint, Ron Weasley from the Happy Potter films contracted the Swine Flu, but he's sure to survive, I mean, he's Wizard, right?! (STORY)
